Cox Communications has had a busy 2014. They are raising rates across the country, threatening their employees with layoffs and trying to get any municipal broadband killed with intentional mis-informaton. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to see yet another city get a Cox rate increase. Omaha, Nebraska had their rates raised in March of 2013 yet now Cox is raising their rates again.
Because companies like Cox are scared of cord-cutters, Cox made sure to jack up Internet rates by an average of more than 10 percent, such as their “preferred” package rising 10.5 percent to $62.99 per month.
Hopefully, Cox is putting this new income stream to their incredibly unreliable and inaccurate data usage meters.
