AT&T has a rich history of being one of the worst companies in the US in terms of customer satisfaction.

So, I guess I shouldn’t be that surprised when I read that AT&T recently wrote a check for $84,867 to Madison County, Mississippi, to pay for previous franchise fees owed to the city. The only problem was that AT&T sent the check to the city of Madison rather than Madison County.

Apparently nobody was aware of the error until Madison County officials threatened to sue AT&T for not paying the fees. It wasn’t until AT&T sent both cities a letter blaming the situation on “a clerical oversight” along with the money for Madison County that the situation got resolved.
