Fairpoint is a complete disaster of a telecom company. Setting aside the fact that they are at or near the bottom of every customer satisfaction survey and their CEO is going around the country hinting at a sale of the company, they also continue to slash jobs around the country.
One such example of cost savings is the firing of the sole employee in one city who received and processed local customers bills.

Well, that will definitely help their bottom line. Not to worry though as Fairpoint wanted the city to know that they are still a “big part of the Ellensburg community” and that you can still use Western Union to pay.
This follows a nationwide trend of telecom companies looking to push off customers who don’t make the company enough money and focus on the select areas that are deemed more profitable.
